Mill Valley Weekly

Thursday, December 17, 2020

Hello Mill Valley Families,

We are so excited for our first ever Winter Carol tomorrow! Below is the schedule for each grade and a few reminders. If you are able to join us, please remember to dress warm and practice social distancing. In addition, please do not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to your student's time slot. We are on a tight schedule and predict having lots of cars to move in and out of the lot in a short time frame.

We thank you in advance and wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season!

Revised 2020-21 School Calendar

Please view the revised 2020-21 school calendar, approved by the Board on Monday night. The updated calendar includes three (3) additional blue days (January 25, February 22 and May 3). Similar to November, students will be provided remote learning opportunities for the day, time to catch-up or make-up work and meet virtually with staff while our facilities undergo a thorough deep cleaning. This also includes a reapplication of BioProtect, an antimicrobial product, to high-touch surfaces.

2021-22 School Calendar - Board Approved on December 14

On Monday, December 14, the School Board approved the 2021-22 school calendar. Next year, spring break will be the last full week of March, which aligns with other regional districts. Please note, there will be a four (4) day weekend that wraps Good Friday, Easter Sunday and the Monday after Easter. This will afford families the opportunity to have an additional travel day for those that leave town over the holiday.

Face Coverings

A few reminders...
  • Face coverings are still required at school and will remain required unless otherwise communicated.
  • Students must have a proper fitting mask
  • Masks must cover both their mouth and nose (some masks are too big and continue to fall down)

We appreciate all that you are doing to encourage and reinforce how to properly wear a mask. They are helping as we continue to STAY SAFE to STAY OPEN.

K-12 High Interest/Career Day

Schools are excited to be in the beginning stages of planning a virtual high interest/career day for students on March 26th. The vision for the day is to create a large collection of high interest topics for students to engage with via recorded videos and/or synchronous opportunities.

If you are interested in joining the committee please complete the form linked HERE. Committee members will be asked to join planning meetings scheduled during the school day and facilitate small group work and responsibilities between meetings and leading up to the event date.

This will be a small planning team of administrators and parent representatives that will also be working to develop this K-12 opportunity. We are seeking one parent representative from each building and will be in contact with more information in the upcoming weeks. If you would like to be involved but are not able to participate in the planning committee, additional opportunities to participate will be shared.

Thank you for considering joining this committee to help provide a high quality experience for our students.
