Distance Learning While Out of Town
With the advancement of technology, fortunately we can offer students the opportunity to continue learning when the need arises for them to travel away from home.
It is important to notify the Attendance Assistant (Att Asst) as soon as the decision is made to leave.
BDMS needs the following information:
a) What days of school will be affected
b) Where is the student going to be located
c) Will student will have access to a laptop, a cell phone and the Internet?
( If access to the Internet is in question, student may be allowed to check out a hotspot from BDMS)
If travel will be out of the US, Att Asst will need to notify Antioch USD's IT department to request for access to our network at least a week before student leaves. Once that has been granted, IT will send a code via text or phone call to authenticate student's account.
Further considerations:
1) Student should do schoolwork as usual
2) If student cannot view class on TEAMS synchronously (due to time zone differences, participating in trip activities during the day, etc), then asynchronous learning can be provided where teachers can record classes for student to view later and/or student gets assignments from ECHO each day and turns in when due.
3) If 1 and 2 aren't feasible, and student will be out of town for more than a week, it may be best to unenroll during absence.
4) We aren't resourced to create work packets unless required to do so, e.g. an IEP specification
Please call or email Anita Doss, Attendance Asst at 925.779.7460 or anitadoss@antiochschools.net with any questions or concerns

Rocket League - Video Game Tournament
Due to the ongoing pandemic our country is living, sports this year have not been able to take place and as a fun way to keep our students engaged and active Antioch's very own E-gaming league was created. Students who maintain a positive attendance and a 2.0 or higher GPA are encouraged to join and play.
This game in particular is free for students, they can access the game on any device and there is no cost to download the game. Students can even play on their laptops.
Sign-ups will end on Friday January 22. Click the link below to sign up.
Minimum 2.0 GPA and positive attendance required.
Students will be added to a Microsoft Teams Channel specific for the Rocket League. All of the communication will be within the channel. Mr. Wisely will take care of setting up the tournament bracket and will post announcements in the channel.
