Principal's Corner 5.13.2022

Our students have done amazing things in the past week! We celebrated Decision Day last Friday for our Seniors, held the academic awards ceremony and capstone night on Monday, honored our American Indian graduates on Wednesday night at the Eagle Feather Ceremony, and finished up MCA testing! There are so many things to be proud of this year that our students have done and I definitely see tremendous growth from where we started in September! When you read this there will only be 5 school days remaining until graduation and 9 total in the 2021-2022 school year. Next week the major events we have are the Art Show, a Choir Concert at the Middle School, and of course our culminating event, graduation next Sunday at 2pm!

Enjoy the sun and let's finish strong!

Day of Caring

We were able to hold the Day of Caring again this year after 2 years off. It was an awesome event with our students servicing over 100 sites around town! Our students did a phenomenal job of giving back! This is such an amazing and important day for our students to learn the importance of giving back and having an "attitude of gratitude!"

See below for some pictures of the day!

Eagle Feather Ceremony

On May 11, DLPS honored the indigenous students graduating in 2022. There was a great feast and blanket ceremony! We are all so proud of their many efforts and accomplishments. Jack Warren and Kelly Kalina were honored with a blanket for their efforts with the students in DLHS.

Adaptive Bowling Team!

Our adaptive bowling team competed at the State Tournament today! Stay tuned for results!

For students entering 12th grade next year, a 2nd meningococcal (MenACWY) booster dose is now a requirement for attending school in Minnesota.
