NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL...

Yesterday at our staff meeting, grade level teams presented progress about our school-wide writing/reasoning in math focus. It is exciting to see the progress students have made in this area. We noticed an increased use of math vocabulary as students explained their thinking and marked improvement in the students' abilities to create math models. There was also great improvement in math reasoning as opposed to the first round last Fall when students simply outlined the steps in the algorithm. Kudos to the students and staff in their commitment in this area.

State testing for Grades 3-5 went quite smoothly. Thank you for scheduling appointments and other activities around the schedule. We have just a handful of students left who need to complete portions of the test.

Speaking of state testing, this year parents will create accounts on the Smarter Balanced (SBAC) website to get electronic student score reports. As I receive more information from the Ed Services department at the district office, I will provide that information to you.
