Students who were absent or needed more time to complete the Decimals/Problem Solving Unit test should come prepared to take it on our next full day of school. ASSIGNMENTS FOR BOTH REGULAR AND EXTENDED: Students should complete 'SET 1' of Prairie Math if they have not already. If their work is at school they should print off a worksheet and use the PDF on schoolfusion with the values to complete it. I may post 'SET 2' if we are out for an extended period of time. The PROPERTIES worksheet is also posted there. Students should complete and bring it back to school to paste into our spiral notebooks. Students have been learning properties since third grade. They can use any online resources, or siblings textbooks. iXL Assignment after completing the PROPERTIES notes page: [6th Grade] Sections X.7, X.8, X.9.

Creating Lego movies with an iPad, Lego's and Brictek is not just promoting technology skills; it is the blending of cross curricular objectives while it includes problem-based learning, inquiry/discovery methods, role-play, simulation, and cooperative learning. To many of our ESOL students, speaking English is difficult, but playing with Lego's has its own universal language. Creating animations allows students to convey an idea, concept, or thought in a way that words can't.
