Instructional Continuity and Remote Learning
Short-Term Instructional Continuity: A website with guidance for learning at home is a short-term resource organized by grade level and subject area and provides online resources, as well as suggested off-line activities. We hope you find this useful in assisting your student with learning activities while at home.
March 23rd - April 3rd: Lessons will begin for core content classes (English/Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies) on Monday, March 23. Other classes and electives will be added throughout the week. It is important for parents to partner and be in communication with teachers to help monitor this work so learning continues during this time away from school.
Parents of students who receive instruction in the special education setting will be contacted by special education teachers to develop plans. Information will also be provided from the district Special Education Department. We are committed to working with you to provide services and support for your student(s).
Long-Term Instructional Continuity: In the event that school closing extends beyond April 3, we will update our online learning plan to support a longer term continuity of learning. We will continue to provide you with ongoing updates.
Technology Access: Plano ISD provides many digital tools to support in-class learning, and our students have access to these resources which are aligned to their classes through the Plano ISD Webdesk and the student digital backpack. All Plano ISD students have been issued a username and password to access these digital tools and content. If students have forgotten their passwords or are otherwise experiencing problems trying to login, please contact Plano ISD's Technology Help Desk for assistance by email at helpdesk@pisd.edu or by phone at 469-752-8767.
Technology Access
We want to ensure that every family has a device for students to use, please complete this survey if you have not already done so (www.pisd.edu/techaccess). The district is working on a plan to distribute Chromebooks to the families that would use them--more information will be coming soon. Please know we have enough devices for every student in the district so there is no need to purchase a device. Parents without home access to the Internet may consider these free WiFi opportunities from area providers:
District-Provided Meals
We want to make sure that all students have access to meals during the district's closure. To get the week started, Plano ISD is providing free grab-and-go breakfast and lunch meals at six locations across the district beginning Monday, March 16. Adjustments to this schedule may be made as needed, so please watch for updated communications and regularly check this web page for new information.
Grab-and-go meals will be available for curbside pickup at the following times:

Student Activities
All UIL competition is currently suspended through March 29, 2020.
No student travel will be occurring during the week of March 16 – 20. Decisions about student trips scheduled beyond March 20 will be reviewed again this week.
All evening and/or off-campus events (banquets, concerts, etc.) are postponed until further notice.
