Does my child have Dyslexia?
What is Dyslexia? A learning disorder characterized by difficulty reading.
Dyslexia occurs in children with normal vision and intelligence.
Symptoms include late talking, learning new words slowly, and a delay in learning to read.
Most children with dyslexia can succeed in school with tutoring or a specialized education program.
All students in Kindergarten thru second grade, along with select students in third grade will be given a Dyslexia screening to identify if they are at risk for this learning disorder. If identified, students will receive a specialized program to help them become successful readers. The screening will begin February 22nd and continue thru March 19th.
