Patriot News

Nuts and Bolts

1. Coalition for Kids will be CLOSED this week before Thanksgiving.

2. There will be no LBMS Homework Club this week before Thanksgiving.

3. There will be no bus transportation home for ESSER tutoring.

4. Pajamas are not allowed to be worn at school. This includes pajama tops and bottoms, onesies, house coats and slippers. Also, blankets are not allowed to be carried around the school. All students have been informed of this multiple times. Beginning next week, students will need to call home for a change of close and consequences for dress code from our LMBS code of conduct/crosswalk will be followed.

5. When a student moves from their current residence inside the city to another area in state or out of state, parents need to come into the school to fill out a formal withdrawal from Liberty Bell on or before the day they plan for their student to discontinue at LB.

Please be prepared to turn in Chromebooks, chargers, hotspots and library books.

2. There will be NO ESSER after school tutoring bus this week.

Attention Families of Band Students!

The Liberty Bell Middle School winter band concert will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 7:00pm. The free performance is open to everyone and will be held in the auditorium at Science Hill HS. Here are a few pieces of information for the evening.

1) Boys are to wear white, long-sleeved, button up dress shirts, nice black slacks, and black dress shoes. Shirts need to be tucked in.

Girls are to wear white tops and black from the waist down. Slacks or skirts are fine.

** All Students: NO jeans, shorts, sweat pants, tennis shoes, or flip-flops. This is a formal performance and the musicians need to be dressed professionally. Parents are expected to help with the dress code.

2) 7th grade students are to arrive at 6:00pm and 8th grade students should arrive at 6:30. All students will come to the Science Hill HS band room for instrument assembly and stay in this area until I give them further instructions. Instrument cases will be left in the band room when students are guided to the auditorium.

3) All students are expected to stay for the entire performance. Supporting each other is part of the band experience and it builds an appreciation for and awareness of everyone’s efforts.

In preparation for our December 14th concert, it is important for us to have some after school rehearsals. These rehearsals are for the full band and are the only time that all of the individual band classes can be combined. As you can imagine, the success of the concert will be determined by the quality of these rehearsals. Please make every effort to support our program by allowing your child to stay for these practices. Everyone’s participation is essential to our success. Thanks in advance for your assistance and please continue to encourage your young musician to practice their parts outside of band class; practicing parts at home will help eliminate sluggish rehearsals.

All rehearsals will take place in the Liberty Bell Band Room and will end at 4:00.

Tuesdays – 8th grade Thursdays – 7th grade

Nov. 16 (No Percussion) Nov. 18 (No Percussion)

Nov. 30 (Full Band) Dec. 2 (Full Band)

Dec. 7 (Full Band) Dec. 9 (Full Band)

Thank you so much for all of your sacrifice, cooperation, and support!
