This 2 day class is provided for you at no cost thanks to a grant from USDA Rural Development. The class is taught by industry and extension professionals and covers the following:


Day 1 (AM) - Irrigation:


  • Basic irrigation design considerations.
  • Irrigation components and their use.
  • Basic troubleshooting.

Day 1 (PM) - Low Voltage Lighting:


  • Basic low voltage lighting design considerations.
  • Low Voltage Lighting components and their use.
  • Basic troubleshooting.

Day 2 - Ornamental and Turf Pest Control Exam Review


  • Basic turf and weed identification skills.
  • State of Alabama Regulations related to Professional Services in Alabama.
  • Requirements of pesticide safety and use.
  • Various types of weeds, diseases, and insects.
  • OTPS Exam Review Concepts.
