5 TIPS TO KEEP YOU MOTIVATED
OR TO GET YOU OFF YOUR ASS & BACK INTO EXERCISE
#1 GET A PARTNER
If you have been training alone for a while, perhaps you need someone who has a similar goal as you or someone who is also motivated to achieve things with their body. Having someone else to encourage you to bring your gym kit to work or come straight to Transform instead of sitting on the sofa for '5 minutes' could be the difference between getting ripped and staying the same.
#2 MAKE A BET
You don't have to put your house on it but make a bet to meet your goal by a certain date with a loved one or mate – this is likely to give you that extra push. The thought of having to pay for your mate’s brunch or having to watch Dirty Dancing with your wife, might be enough to keep you on the straight and narrow. Knowing there is something other than your results on the line will make you work harder than ever. Any time there is a competition or a prize involved, we as humans instinctively step up the intensity and effort.
#3 STOP THOSE CLOSE TO YOU SABOTAGING YOUR PROGRESS
Do certain friends deliberately derail you? Do you have certain people in your life that encourage you to order a pizza? Or do they say things like ‘let’s go for a cheeky beer after work.. oh, go on..'? Several studies have proven that you are more likely to be out of shape if your friends or spouse are. You have to make your goals clear to them and explain that you expect their support in achieving your goals. Remember if they belittle any of your aspirations it's probably because they’re jealous of your commitment to change. If they continue to be a problem, then start spending more time with the people that will help with your fitness crusade, not hinder it.
#4 FOCUS ON THE END RESULT
First you need a clear goal. It may be a holiday, yacht party or a gorgeous (tight) dress that you bought from Gucci and have never worn. It doesn't matter what the goal is, just choose one powerful enough to keep you committed to it. Once you've established your goal keep focused on it, tell people about it, put pictures on your fridge beside the b2b nutrition plan, as well as quotes that motivate you to avoid calling NKD. Regularly remind yourself what you want, why you want it and how shit you'll feel if you don't achieve it.
#5 CHANGE YOUR APPROACH
You may be bored with the same routine, or perhaps you are not getting the right guidance on fitness and nutrition. If this is the case, I suggest speaking to one of the b2b team. If you haven't tried Transform at Sports City yet, then get your ass down for a FREE trial session. It's guaranteed to revive your enthusiasm to train. (Sports City - Mon & Weds @ 7:00pm Sat @ 6:30pm)
