FRIENDS & FELLOWSHIP
If you want to participate in a faith-filled group with the assistance of Ms. Doyle and Mrs. Hammer, then Friends & Fellowship is a can’t miss group! You'll want to attend each Monday after school starting January 9th. Time is 3:35 pm and will end for students to ride the late bus at 4:10 pm.
Friends & Fellowship is a group which meets after school to pray for their school, students, teachers, families, churches, government officials, and our nation. It's a place to gain support while attempting to overcome any adversity that may be in your life on a daily basis. Friends & Fellowship offers a place to connect with others of a similar set of conviction and values; to grow in our understanding of faith based education, to spiritually lift up others in your group, to become able to spread positive messages through faith, and to worship through practicing faithfulness, love and behavior.
If you would like to be a part of this fun group, please stop by the Media Center to sign up before Christmas break. We would like to get an idea of how many will be in the group to be sure to have enough materials. Everyone is welcomed to join and we hope to see you soon. Making the world a better place is a tough job, but we are just the people to do it!
(This group is not affiliated or sponsored by Beech Grove City Schools. Ms. Doyle and Mrs. Hammer will be volunteering their time to run the group’s activities.)

21ST CENTURY SCHOLARS
Indiana started the 21st Century Scholars Program in 1990 to ensure that every student can afford a college education. Income-eligible 7th and 8th graders who enroll in the program and fulfill a pledge of good citizenship can receive up to four years of undergraduate tuition at a participating Indiana college. (The scholarship amount is based on the family's ability to contribute to a college education.)
How to apply
The 21st Century Scholars application is only available online. Eligible 7th and 8th grade students and their parents or legal guardians access the online application at www.Scholars.IN.gov. Applications must be submitted by June 30 of the student's 8th grade year. Please review income eligibility requirements online before applying by visiting http://www.in.gov/ssaci/2380.htm.
CANVAS
We are excited to offer parents the opportunity to become more involved in our digital learning community. At South Grove, BGMS, and BGHS teachers use a program called CANVAS to provide curriculum, assign work, and assess their students. Parents now have two different options to look into those courses and help your child stay on track. The first option is the CANVAS Parent Mobile App. For user instructions please click here. The second option is by signing up as a parent observer via our BGCS CANVAS homepage. Go to the website, https://bgcs.instructure.com. Click on "Parent of a Canvas user?" and enter the necessary information. You will need to have your child's username and password available, so you may want to have them nearby when you are signing up.
All doors will be locked during the day. Please press the intercom system on the south brick wall at Door 1W and state your name, your child's name and please show your id. The office will check and make sure you are on the student's emergency list before letting you in the building.
Parents, if you need to see a teacher at any time, please make an appointment by calling the office at 784-6649. Thank you for your cooperation.
