A Message From Our Principal

Hello Mesa Families!

During the month of February, we will be focusing on empathy in relationship to our PRIDE matrix. Teachers will be implementing opportunities for students to practice and learn about empathy with their classmates. Our staff members will be handing out PAW tickets to students as they practice acts of empathy and kindness throughout the building. Please encourage your students to participate as often as possible.

On February 7th, we will be hosting a Mesa Community Day from 12:45-2:10. All are welcome to attend and participate in classroom-based activities and celebrations. Our 4th and 5th grade staff will be hosting an ‘Escape the School’ math and literacy night on February 12th. We would love for our 4th and 5th grade students and families to join us for this fun event! Our 4th graders will be kicking off the evening with a special performance and the night will conclude with a free BBQ dinner in the cafeteria.

February is also conference month. Mesa conferences will be held on February 18th from 3pm-7pm as well as February 19th from 10am-6pm (no school for students) and February 20th from 7am-11am (also no school for students). Some teachers may also offer additional times throughout the upcoming weeks. If you have not already received communication from your son/daughter’s teacher(s), please watch for sign-ups to be coming home soon. Please be sure to let us know if there are any conflicts with your scheduled date/time. You will also have the opportunity to complete a parent survey while at Mesa for your conference. Please ask your son/daughter’s teacher about accessing a laptop to complete your survey either before or after your conference(s). We look forward to seeing you and sharing information about your son/daughter’s progress this year.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your son/daughter’s education this year. If you have questions, concerns or great ideas, please stop by and let us know.
