Ancient Greek Art
The art style for Greek art was influenced by Minoan art. The Greeks had a lot of different forms of art. One of the most favorite types of art were pottery. Pottery was made from clay found in the ground. Most of the colors on the pots were black. The type of shapes were mostly people and animals. Artist for a while were not important until pottery came.
Ancient Greek Mosaics
You would normally see mosaics in temples or in the capital, but today scientist have seen peaces of mosaics every were in Greek areas. Mosaics were made from beautiful stained tiles cut in to tiny peaces. The tiny peaces would be put in a specific order to make a picture.
Ancient Greek Pottery
Greek pottery was made with clay. The pottery was made to last more than 1,000 years. The pictures that were painted on the pots was mostly people and animals. The pictures were beautiful on the pots. Each pot was made with fine lines and themes.
Ancient Greek Architecture
The Greeks Made beautiful buildings and temples. Most of the work went in to temples and government buildings. The Greeks were wonderful architects. Each building had a different style, some buildings were made with huge marble columns.

Most of our buildings that are types of government we see today have some kind of Greek architecture in them. At Abraham Lincoln's memorial on the top of the big arch on the front has people in graved in marble holding the roof. That shows how we were inspired by ancient Greek art.
