A Message From Our Administrative Team
This past Monday, January 15th, we honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King's message of freedom, equality, justice and love is one that still resonates today throughout our Longfellow community and the United States. The faculty and staff at LoES have the opportunity each day to not only provide an education to our more than 450 students, but just as meaningful is to also have a positive impact on young people. Our students will one day grow into the leaders, influencers and changes makers that will continue to move our community and our nation forward. Dr. King is quoted as saying, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." With the continued collaboration and partnership with families, we strive each day to make Dr. King's vision a reality. As the second quarter of the school year comes to an end next Friday, we look forward to embarking on the second half of the school year.
Sincerely,
LoES Administrative Team

Car Loop Information
Reminders to keep students safe
- Please be courteous when traveling through the car loop. Many families are looking to get their student(s) to or from school and our staff works hard to ensure that both cars and pedestrians are moving through efficiently and safely.
- Please stop at the stop located at Hesperus Drive & Eliots Oak Road. This is important as we have students of all ages coming to and from school and it's the law.
- Please know that safety is our number one priority. Please be mindful of the above reminders so that we do not compromise the safety of our students for a relatively short amount of time traveling through the car loop.
