It's Groovy to Be a Warhawk!
The Hall Way...
Hello Northwood families!
Labor Day weekend is the perfect time for our school community to take a little extended break and enjoy the time together this long weekend. Encourage your student to get away from their Chromebook and get a break from technology. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with sunshine and time outside!
Attendance during remote learning is required just as it would be in a regular school setting. Parents and guardians must call the office to excuse their students from school and students will have to make up the work they missed. Students emailing their teachers that they will be absent will not excuse them from class. If your students is going to be absent, please call our attendance line at 815-337-8618. Our students have been working hard with remote learning and we are grateful for the support of our families.
Please never hesitate to reach out if you need help with anything. Warhawks take care of each other and we are here to work together and support each other. Have a wonderful three day weekend so we can have another Groovy week next week!

Staying Connected: Parent Portal
Letters with login information and instructions to create an account for the Parent Portal were mailed home last week. If you need help with your log in, please call the office at 815-338-4900.
- You will be able to check your child’s academic progress and grades, as well as attendance, on the District 200 Parent Portal (formerly called Home Access).
- Please note that your student will also have their own login to check their grades and their teachers will guide them on how to access the system. Students will use their chromebook username and password to log into the system.
Remote Learning Plans
We have an Asynchronous Friday on 9/11. The day will include PRIDE groups, skills practice assignments, and teachers will be scheduling appointment with students that need support. A newsletter with the details of the day will be sent out next week.
It's Groovy to be in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade at Northowood!
NMS Library
Hi Warhawks!
It's time for a book club! The NMS Library is sponsoring a lunchtime book club starting on September 8th. All grades are welcome! We will be reading a book from JLG Digital, so everyone will be able to have access to the book. We will have two meetings with the Creekside lunchtime book club to discuss the book! Students can email either Ms. Parrent at mparrent@wcusd200.org or Mrs. Hinderlider at bhinderlider@wcusd200.org for more information and to sign up. We hope to see you there!
News from the Nurse
6th grade physicals and immunizations are still required for this school year. Information on the requirements can be found below. Please send the paperwork to our school nurse, Mrs. Kaszubowski, at skasubowski@wcusd200.org or you can drop it off at the school between 8 - 4.
