LETTER FROM THE Principal
Dear Lions Park Families,
It is so hard for me to believe that tomorrow marks one year since our last day of life as we knew it. While I have heard other ways of determining the one year mark, such as the first case in the US or the day it was declared a pandemic, the date that stands out in my mind is our last day of school. Our students and staff came to school that day as usual and left with bags and backpacks weighed down with learning materials for what we thought would be a couple weeks. While it makes me a bit sad to think of that time and all that has happened, I am excited and hopeful about what is ahead. I am also overwhelmed with thanks to our entire school community for the way everyone has come together to make an extremely difficult situation as good as it can possibly be for our children. We are so very proud of the way our students, staff and families have handled everything that has happened during the past twelve months, and we are confident that everyone will again pull together to make the period from April 12th through June 1st successful and positive for our students.
Thanks to all who filled out the spring enrollment form. Today we called families who did not submit the form, and we hope to have finalized numbers and begin making decisions soon. We know this next phase of the school year is exciting for some, while it causes stress and anxiety for others. Even those who are generally looking forward to the return to school may have some mixed feelings due to another change. We will be sharing more detailed information with you in the weeks to come so that you can adequately prepare your children for how things will look during this next phase of our school year.
As was announced last week, we will have our school picture day on Thursday, March 18th. These pictures will be available for families to purchase and will also be used in our yearbook. In person students will have their pictures taken during the school day. Remote families can sign up for a time to have their child’s picture taken at this link. There are times available during lunch and after school for remote students. However, if families select a time during school hours their child will be excused for a half hour to come get the picture taken. When students come to get their picture taken, they will be in groups of 10-13 waiting outside the gym. Two students will walk in the gym at a time. When they reach the photographer, students will remove their mask and stand to have their picture taken. They will then put their mask back on and go back to wait in the hallway if they are an in person student or leave through Door 1 if they are a remote student. There will be no picture retakes, so any student or staff member who does not have his or her picture taken on this day, will have the option to submit a photograph for inclusion in the yearbook via email at Lionsparkyearbook@gmail.com. Information on how to order pictures can be found below. If families order pictures and are not satisfied with the results, they can request a refund. Further information about picture day will be shared between now and then.
As always, please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Katie Kelly

Technology Issues
Although technology can work well, there are times when it just does not work correctly. Teachers will not be available to respond to emails during instructional times. Instead, please submit a Remote Learning Technology Support form by clicking here. Once submitted, someone from our District Technology Team will contact you to provide assistance.
If you experience a technical issue, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Restart the Chromebook (make sure it turns all the way off before turning back on).
Quit any unused applications.
Sign out of an application if it's not working, and sign back in.
Move closer to your internet router if you are experiencing connectivity issues.
Turn off any accessibility features i.e., contrast mode, special cursor that may be set on the Chromebook. These can cause applications to run slow.
