October in the JAV Library
After the removal of outdated and worn books, shelf rearrangement, and the addition of wheels to one large freestanding bookcase, the JAV library is more open and adaptable to various purposes.
One side of the mobile bookcase features new books and graphic novels; the other side serves as storage for Makerspace materials.
The Library is More Open!
After the installation of wheels on a freestanding bookcase, (thanks to our wonderful maintenance man, Dr. Dan!), the library is more open and can be configured in multiple ways.
New Books and Graphic Novels
The mobile bookcase is near the middle entrance of the library, where new books, both English and Spanish, are sure to catch the eye of students.
Makerspace Nook
Anchored by the LEGO wall, the JAV Makerspace provides a myriad of hands-on activities for students who love to tinker and create. One side of the mobile bookcase serves as storage for Makerspace materials.
Graphic Novel News
After much discussion between students and teachers about what is nonfiction, and what is fiction, the designation of 741.5 for graphic novels has been changed to GRA. Graphic novels which are clearly fiction are now recognized as such, putting an end to the confusion of students who couldn't figure out why these stories were shelved in the nonfiction seciton of the library.
Happy reading!
