Kurds Migrating to Turkey

By: Jesse Gillespie

The First Gulf War

During the 1990's Iraq annexed Kuwait it lead to a war with multiple other countries. This made the people inside Iraq's borders become refugees including an ethnic group called the Kurds. The Kurdish people primarily migrated north and west. One country they immigrated to was Turkey.

Problems with the Kurdish people and the Turks of Turkey

When the Kurds entered Turkey planning to settle they never thought of being massacred or having their own culture banned, but that's what happened. In Turkey 98% of their people are Muslim. The Muslim extremists inside Turkey and their government have done most everything in their power to wipe out the Kurds. Of course this has led to the world incriminating Turkey for abusing the human rights of the Kurds.
