Middle School / Intermedia
Dear Parents.
Is your child currently in fifth grade (or their final elementary school grade, if different)? If so, they will apply to middle school this year! Throughout middle school admissions, we are committed to providing the information and support you need.
The middle school application is not yet open. We’ll be in touch with more information about the admissions timeline later this fall.
Here’s what you can do now:
- Learn about middle school admissions! Get the latest updates and watch videos about the admissions process on our website.
- Find detailed information about schools of interest, and search for schools by course offerings, location, sports, and more in the MySchools middle school directory. Please note that the information in this directory reflects last year’s admissions process and is subject to change; updated school information will be available when the middle school application opens.
- Make a list of programs that interest you.
What’s next?
Later this fall, public school families will receive a personalized welcome letter in the mail, which includes a unique code to access your child’s MySchools account. You will also be able to request this letter from your child’s current public school. Private school students may reach out to a Family Welcome Center to obtain one —please wait to reach out until you receive an email notification that letters are available. We’ll let you know when letters are on the way.
Best,
The Middle Schools Admissions Team, Office of Student Enrollment
NYC Department of Education
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. McNulty.Queridos padres.

Ingredients
- 2 pie crusts homemade or store-bought
- 1/2 cup (100 grams) brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (250 grams) pumpkin puree
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) evaporated milk
- 1 egg lightly beaten
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the pie crusts out to ⅛" thickness. Using a 3.5-inch cookie cutter (or cup) cut out 18 circles from the pie crusts. Re-roll any scrap pieces of pie dough as needed to cut out the circles.
Place each circle of pie crust in 18 cavities of 2 standard 12-count muffin pans. Gently press the dough down and around the sides, making sure the dough fits snuggly in each cavity. Transfer the muffin pans to the refrigerator while you make the filling.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and salt until well combined. Then whisk in the pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, and egg until fully combined.
Remove the muffin pans with the pie crusts from the refrigerator. Spoon the pumpkin pie filling evenly between all 18 pie crusts in the muffin pans (about 2 tablespoons per pie crust).
Bake at 400°F for 16-20 minutes or until the tops of the mini pumpkin pies are set and the crust is lightly golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes, carefully remove from the muffin pan, then place on the wire rack to finish cooling. Once cooled, place in an airtight container and transfer to the refrigerator to chill for at least 3 hours or overnight.
Once chilled, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
Mini pumpkin pies may be covered tightly and refrigerated for up to 3 days.
