Kia ora koutou,

Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Day

New Zealand will mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II with a one-off public holiday on Monday 26th September 2022. This means that all state and state-integrated schools and kura will be closed on this day.

We will send out reminders closer to Monday 26th September that there will be no school on the day which has been set down by the government to mark the passing of her majesty the Queen.

Our Production will be happening on Wednesday 28th September and Thursday 29th September. My apologies for the confusion over the times of the performances.

Wednesday 28th September - Group A Performing - A6, B1, C8, B5, B4, A5/A4 and A3

B1 Artwork

B1 have been busy learning about local Rotorua history and reading the story of Hinemoa and Tutanekai. To remember this story we sketched our pictures and used pastels to show Hinemoa sitting on her rock, waiting for Tutanekai to play his poruhito (flute). That was their sign for her to go over to him on Mokoia Island. B1 all worked super hard to draw this and try out different pastel techniques. Check out their awesome artwork!!

A6 Artwork

A6 have been learning about Ihenga. Ihenga was a famous chief and an explorer. He named lots of places around Rotorua. We created a map to show some of the places Ihenga named.
