LEVEL UPdate Winter 2019
#weCODE!
A letter from Ms. Dandelet
These are excellent questions that I haven't ever been able to fully answer, until this year. Last year we graduated our first 8th-grade class. These students are currently enrolled in a variety of high schools - charter schools, private schools, and large district schools.
We created our first alumni panel for you, our current LUA families! You can hear firsthand the successes and challenges that our alumni have faced. You will have time to ask questions and hear from both the students and their parents.
It is never too early to begin planning for your own child's future. Please join us for this special night - Tuesday, February 19th from 5:30 - 6:30 PM in the middle school classroom. All LUA families are welcome!
In an attempt to make our news more user-friendly, we are trying out new platforms for SHOWING our news in video format. Check out the highlight video below. What is your preference? Video news or written newsletter? Please reply to this newsletter and let us know!

A Highlight from our Student Handbook!
This month we are focusing on RECESS.
All students have daily outdoor recess except in extreme weather conditions such as rain or severe cold/windchill.
Our weather policy is:
- If the temperature is 0 degrees F or below, the students will not go outside for recess.
- If the windchill is colder than 0 degrees F, the students will not go outside for recess.
- If it is raining, students will not go outside for recess.
Please consider these factors related to weather as you and your child/ren make daily decisions on outerwear. Hats, boots, snow pants and mittens are necessary. Most playground games are played in the snow. If students do not have boots or snow pants, they are restricted to play on the cement area.
