Thank you to our fabulous PTA Chairs and Volunteers who made the Popsicle Pop-In and Boo Hoo Coffee such hits these first couple of weeks of school.
Popsicle Pop-In was flawlessly executed by event chairs, Kara Griswold and Jodie Hayes, and volunteers, Kristin McClasky and Karen Moore. It was fantastic to be back in school, meeting teachers, and spending time with friends after the summer break.
Chairs Emily & Zach Luea and Jess Becker brought the BooHoo Coffee to the front lawn for our Kindergarten parents/guardians. Special thanks to our chairs, and Rachel Wymore, for a fantastic event!

VOLUNTEER CROSSING GUARDS NEEDED
Please help us keep our students safe by volunteering to serve as a crossing guard at 86th and Juniper. If each grade level can commit to filling 6 slots per month we will have every shift covered for the entire year (EASY!).
In this role, you will be reminding children that they must walk themselves and/or their bikes/scooters across the crosswalk. You will also help direct the after-school traffic and remind drivers that cars are not permitted to turn left off of 86th Street during the before and after school rush. Crosswalk volunteer shifts are 7:50-8:10am and 3:05-3:20pm (12:25pm-12:40pm on half days).
ROOM PARENTS STILL NEEDED FOR 4th-6th GRADES
Room parents are still needed for classes in the 4-6 grade classrooms. Please take a few minutes to see if your student's classroom is in need and sign up if you can.

A SPACE FOR EVERY BULLDOG - DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION AT BRIARWOOD
AUGUST CELEBRATIONS & RECOGNITIONS
- National Back to School Month
Many kids may feel anxious about going back to school after a long summer break. Others may feel nervous about starting school for the first time. Parents/guardians can help ease the transition back to school by being able to recognize the symptoms of stress and anxiety and implementing some creative strategies.
BRIARWOOD FOUNDATION
The Briarwood Foundation provides that little extra for our students. Directed by a board of parent/guardian volunteers, our primary purpose is to fund programs and supplies not provided by federal, state, school district or PTA budgets.
Thanks to your support, our students were able to utilize these enhanced learning tools for 2021-2022:
K-2 Phonics, Reading Curriculum
5 walkie-talkies for additional school safety
Kodable subscription
Raised Garden beds
