I want to inform you of 2 special events in the hope that you will join us to celebrate Halloween and to honor our Veterans.
Wednesday, October 31 2:00PM - Our Traditional Halloween Parade
- NO Halloween parties/celebrations will take place in the classrooms.
- Students MUST come to school dressed in regular clothes and change into their costumes at the designated time.
- Absolutely NO weapons, sabers or scary, bloody masks of any kind
- At 2:00 we will begin to organize for the parade.
- Each class will be directed to parade down the tree lined path that leads to Charles St. We will do ONE full rotation around the track. Parents are asked to line the parade route to cheer on our students.
- After our parade around the track, classes will go onto the field for Papa-razzi and Mama-razzi photo ops. Bring your cameras!
- At approximately 2:20 the event ends and ALL return to classrooms to ready for a regular dismissal at 2:45 dismissal.
- In case of rain we will provide a different schedule
- Students who do not wish to join the parade will participate in a separate activity.
In order to have a safe and fun event we need your cooperation.
Friday, November 9, 8:15AM - Our Veterans Day Commemoration
- All students will meet their teachers on the field for our annual salute to the men and women who served our country.
- If you have served, this is your day and we welcome you. Feel free to dress in uniform.
- We will have a special flag raising, the children will perform patriotic songs and we will thank all those who served.
These events are important community activities. Please join us!

From the School Nurse
Dear Third Grade Parents,
If your child is in the 3rd grade then you will need to submit a mandatory physical exam form to the school nurse this year. Mrs. Pinkert, RN sent these letters and forms home last school year. The physician must complete the State of CT (HAR-3) form which can be found on our school website and the physical date must be AFTER January 1, 2018 in order to fulfill the mandate for 3rd grade.
Please make several copies of the physical before you hand it in as you may need it for after school programs and camps.
Dear Pre Kindergarten Parents,
As per the State of CT, your child will need to have the seasonal Influenza vaccine BEFORE December 31, 2018 and you will need to provide proof to the school nurse. This is required for attendance and if it is not completed before that time your child will not be able to return to school on January 2nd, 2019. Please contact your child's physician to take care of this very important vaccine and try not to wait until flu season has started.
If you have any questions please feel free to call me.
Thank you for your attention,
Angie Lucas, RN
