Biographical information
Name/Nickname- William duke of Normandy/ he takes the name William the conqueror after he conquerors England and the Anglo-Saxons.Location- Born: 1027 Falaise, France. Died: September 09, 1087 in Rouen, FranceHe lived in Normandy from 1027- 1060. But in 1057, William is offered the throne by Edward the confessor, which was many years after he was knighted at age 15. He soon conquerors England in 1066.Personality- William the conqueror was very efficient at what he did. He was very talented at being a leader and was very organized. Little is known about his personality but from what we do know he was definitely a tough customer.
Memorable moments
William the conqueror lived in Normandy for the first phase of his life. When Edward the confessor died, he said that he should have the throng of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom because his mother was a Norman. He easily defeats the Anglo-Saxon kingdom and plans a brilliant strategy to take over the colonies of England. He does, and he was crowed king of England in 1066.He takes the place of his father as being the duke of Normandy in 1035; this is when he starts planning his way to the throne.“The rare case where the conquered is very satisfied with the conqueror.”-William the conqueror. King William suffers a fatal injury while he enters a burning city by surprise. For five weeks he was slowly dying and he divided half of his territory to his two oldest sons.
Importance
He decided to invade the Anglo-Saxon kingdom and conqueror England.We should care about him because he is a large inspiration to many philosophers and military historians. William’s biggest accomplishment is the gaining of the English thrown and overtaking the monarch.

Name/nickname- King John. His nickname was john Lackland because his father did not at first give him ownership of the continent. Location- born: December 24, 1167 in Oxford, United Kingdom. Died: October 19, 1216 in Newark, United KingdomKing John’s personality was very short-tempered and he was very greedy. This is why many people rebelled against him in1215. Also he was so short-tempered that he tries to murder his father “Henry II” and his wife Eleanor of Aquitaine. He is also cruel and disloyal.
Memorable moments
Some of King John’s major conflicts is that he is defeated by the French crown and looses Normandy and all of the possessions of Angevin.The king is also forced to sign the Magna Carta or else punishment by death. This document stated that he could not tax nobles without their consent or take their property without paying for it. He was also approached by a group of nobles that demanded their rights be placed. “Mad world! Mad kings! Mad composition!”- King John-King John dies for a mysterious reason after eating peaches.
Importance
King John’s most important decision he ever made was that he was forced to sign the Magna Carta or the nobles were going to kill him on the spot.We should care about this person because when he signs the Magna Carta it is a foundation for England’s laws.King John signed the Magna Carta and established the principle of monarchial limitation which prevented him from being a tax raiser without the consent of parliament.

Died: May 30, 1431 in Rouen, FranceJoan of arc was a teenage ruler who was very hard working because she came from a farming family. She was very religious and she had an extremely close relationship with god. She was listed as insane and she started to see visions and hear voices. She was a saint and she was very determined.

She was involved in a numerous amount of battles between the English. But the most important were 1429, when she led King Charles VII to victory in the battle of the Orleans when I was just 15. Also during the 100 years war she led Charles VII to be the king of France.“Act and God will act.”- Joan of ArcA fact about Joan of arc is that she said that she heard god speaking to her. We think that she may have suffered from schizophrenia. She is also one of the youngest battle leaders in history. She is killed with a burning stake at age 19. She also told Charles VII secrets about him that he though only he and god knew.
Importance
She leads King Charles VII through Orleans and defeats the English in many battles. Also she was next to King Charles VII when he was crowed.We should care about this person because she was declared a Saint in 1920. Many churches today still study her to find out more about her life.Her most significant accomplishment is that she saves France from being overtaken by the English.
