Happy New Year!
We hope you enjoyed a restful break from school and a wonderful holiday season. We are so grateful to have been able to celebrate the season with lots of holiday fun in our classrooms the last week of school! We are working hard to make sure that there is time for fun and excitement at Garwood Elementary, even though this year looks different. It is important to us that our school is still full of joy!
The new year brings great opportunity to reflect on the past year and look ahead to the possibilities fo 2021. We started the school year with a great deal of uncertainly surrounding what "reopening" in a pandemic would look like. We're delighted to still be open to provide a stable learning environment for our students. We know the benefits of being in school goes beyond just learning academic skills; our students are building friendships, learning social skills and learning to be members of a community. We want to thank you, sincerely, for your continued support this year- we can be a great school because we are supported by a great community.
Our newsletter this month features some important information. Thanks for taking the time to peruse through and see what's going on at Garwood. I want to highlight the importance of your attention to our 1:1 rollout information over the coming weeks. We're excited to be able to increase student access to technology.
Please note the opportunity to sign up to be a part of our parent advisory committee. If you are interested in getting involved by providing feedback and partnering with us for planning next steps, this is a great opportunity!
Thank you for your continued support. As always, it's a privilege to serve our students and the Garwood community!
Respectfully,
Jake Massey, Principal

Meet Mr. Joe... Mr. Joe keeps our school running! In his position as head custodian, he is busy from the moment he arrives, which is extremely early, to the moment he leaves in the afternoon. Thanks to the support of Mr. Joe, our school is clean, sanitized and well-maintained. Mr. Joe knows all the students, and they know and love him too!
Thank you, Mr. Joe!
Some Holiday FUN.. it's good to be a Grizzly!
