Proper Winter Attire at Recess (UPDATED)
(UPDATED) Per the UTSC Handbook, students will NOT be going outside when the temperature is below 10 degrees, which includes the wind chill. For more information, please visit the Elementary Handbook HERE.
Just a friendly reminder that students must have the proper attire in order to go outside for recess: This can include snow pants, boots, gloves, hat, etc., depending on the age of the child.
Since students will still need to rotate areas while outside, it's imperative that students be prepared with the proper attire in order to stay warm and safe while outside :)

Let the Fun Begin!
Principal Fuller's Thoughts
I LOVE this video! It was the first time that Benjamin walked across his bedroom to get his favorite books :)
Those 16 steps were such an accomplishment for that little boy!
However, what you won't see are the hours of footage I have of Benjamin falling on his butt.
No matter how many times he fell, Benjamin always picked himself up and started over.
This little boy was so resilient, it didn't matter how many times he fell.
Resilient people approach life differently...they approach life with a plan and a determination to make that plan happen...NO...MATTER...WHAT.
Resilient people see their problems as only temporary and very much solvable.
The interesting thing is that resiliency is directly tied to...yup, you guessed it, HAPPINESS!
Having a resilient mindset has a physical change to your prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain you think with!
You can literally manifest your own happiness just be thinking differently.
Babies are great!
Babies are tough!
Babies are resilient!
A lot of that is because they don't know any better. They don't overthink their problems, they just keep trying to stand up.
Sometimes in life, it pays off to think like a baby...stay focused, stay determined, STAY RESILIENT!
