Weekly Update
Today the church was packed as we celebrated Grandfriends Day with a special Mass celebrated by Fr. Kosem and Fr. Gonser. It was beautiful to look around and see our youngest students sharing the liturgy with their Grandfriends. Afterward, they returned to school, enjoyed donuts and coffee, and visited the bookfair. By lunchtime, the building was back to normal and classes back on schedule.
Speaking of schedules, here is some important information about next week. Building-wide, MAP testing takes place at the beginning of each day. Please make sure your child has a nutritionally-charged breakfast and gets the proper amount of sleep. Also, on Monday, September 16th, we celebrate “International Dot Day,” students are permitted to add polka-dot shirts or socks to uniforms. Based on a book by Peter Reynolds, the overarching theme is to make your mark and see where it takes you. Thank you to Mrs. Katherine Smith for the inspiring idea to celebrate this day that recognizes each child as unique.
I look forward to seeing all of you on Sunday. Join us as we host a reception in Carrabine for Fr. Kosem immediately following 11:00 am Mass. He will soon retire after 35 years of service to our parish. I will miss his wisdom and guidance, although I understand that he deserves to have the opportunity to retire.
Enjoy the weekend!
Godspeed,
Mrs. Hibler
