- Tuesday- Students will wear their clothes inside out or backwards

- Thursday- Veterans Day: Wear red, white and blue, the lawn will be decorated with flags
- Friday- World Kindness Day: Wear your favorite Be Kind shirt or dress like a Bee (Bee Kind!)
We will have other celebrations throughout the week (writing letters to community heroes, soldiers and veterans; art projects; kindness challenge)
Celebrating Veteran's Day November 11th
We have had an incredible response from our CCE families with names of Veterans and First Responders. Thank you for allowing us to include your family member's name or close friends in our celebration. We will be setting out flags around our school next Thursday (Veteran's Day) with the names of all the Veterans and First Responders attached.
If you have not had the chance to include your active military personnel, Veteran or First Responder, click on the link below and fill out the form.
The last day to fill out the for is Wednesday, November 10th.
Click HERE to fill out our Veteran's Day form.
Additional Note: After calling the Windcrest Retirement Community about involving them in our Veteran's Day letter writing endeavor, we found out they have over 300 Veterans living at their facility. We thought to reach more Veterans at their facility, we could donate new boardgames (chess, checkers, puzzles, Monopoly, etc), playing cards and anything someone that is retired may enjoy playing. If you are interested in sending us a new game to donate to Windcrest Retirement Community, please bring your item to the front office at CCE.
Thank you

Thanksgiving Lunch
We here at CCE have always enjoyed having parents come to our school to celebrate Thanksgiving with their children and partaking in a delicious turkey lunch. As with many things, we are still doing things a little differently. On November 17th, we will be serving a turkey lunch for our students, but parents and family will not be allowed to attend.
We are so sorry that we are unable to welcome our wonderful parents to our Thanksgiving feast, but look forward to the future when we will all be able to enjoy this school event again together.
Thank you for your understanding.

Lost and Found
It is that time again... Lost and Found is piling up. If you think you might be missing some clothing items, water bottles, etc., please stop by our Lost and Found any time.
Please Note: The week before Winter Break, we will donate all remaining items left in Lost and Found to charity.
It might be a good idea to write your child's name somewhere in their jackets and coats so it is easier to identify their clothes.
Thank you!
SEL Theme for November: Gratitude
Why is practicing gratitude a social/emotional skill? Simply focusing for a minute on the experiences in our lives we're grateful for shifts our thinking to a calmer, more content perspective, which can immediately uplift and comfort us. When we make this a regular practice we train our brains to shift to a positive mind-set more efficiently and maintain a healthier, more optimistic perspective long-term (MindUp 2011).
Throughout November students will have opportunities to identify and share expressions of gratitude for people, events, and things in their lives. This sharing at school forges stronger connections and trust among peers. And the same is true for family members who share what they are thankful for at home on a regular basis.
The Backpack Society

The POP Tab Recycling Program
The Pop Tab Recycling Program is a fundraising project to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver. The Ronald McDonald Houses in Denver and Aurora serve as a home away from home for many families whose children are seriously ill and are undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
How the program works
Aluminum beverage can tabs are collected and sold for cash. Also tabs from soup, tuna, and fruit etc. cans can be collected.
This project continues to be a success because it makes it possible for any individual or group to make a contribution. It is an easy and fun task for young and old and a great way to lend support to children and their families during a time of crisis.
*Since the 2000-01 school year, the families of Coyote Creek have helped collect over 800 gallons of tabs! Every gallon collected equals one night at the Ronald McDonald House. This has allowed families to stay at the Ronald McDonald House for FREE for 800 nights!
Please collect your tabs and bring them to the main office. Thank you so very much for helping!
