"Supreme Law of the Land"
Supremacy Clause
The sixth article of the constitution outlined that the constitution is the supreme law of the land and it overrules all other departments. It is known as the Supremacy Clause.
Who Influenced the Article
James Madison, Alexander Hamilton greatly influenced Article VI. It was in the federalist papers.
Importance of the constitution
This gives the states less power then the federal government. For example, a state can not send an ambassador to another country.
