Volcanoes

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! info !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Volcanoes are mountains that builds up around an opening in earths crust. The lava you see starts and forms in a magma chamber then goes up a vent and comes out the top as lava. the three different types are cinder cone, shield, and composite. When lava cools it turns into ash. Ash is not hot to the touch!
Types of Volcanoes
Cinder-Cone
Cinder-Cone is one of three types of Volcanoes there is today. A Cinder-Cone is rounder than a Composite volcano. The opening is wider and is in a shape of a cone. The lava shoots out of a hole called a crater. The crater is important because if the top of a volcano was closed the lava would get stopped up and explode the whole volcano. If that would happen there would be now telling were the lava would go.
Shield
A Shield volcano is the roundest type of volcano. Some Shield volcanoes are rounder than others. All volcanoes have a vent that magma goes up and turns into lava then shoots out the top. After the lava shoots out it runs down the side of the volcano then cools down and turns into ash. Ash is not hot to the touch like lava is. Do not touch lava that has been cooling down for a short time if you do you will get burned badly.
Composite
The Composite volcano is my favorite because the lava come out of three different holes. It is called Composite because when the lava goes up the vent it goes into three different tubes. Then when the lava reaches the top of each tube it shoots out of each tube. when lava shoots out it looks like an explosion. When lava shoots out of a composite it is three times the power. when lava cools down sometimes it turns into lava rock a real kind of rock.
