2021-2022 School Year
Planning for the 2021-22 school year is happening on many levels. It is our full intention to offer five days of in-person instruction for all students in the fall. Administrators are meeting and working on determining a virtual option that would continue into next year for those who choose it. All of this, of course, is predicated on a number of factors of which we have no control: the virus, the success/impact of vaccines on our schools/community, MDHHS orders, recommendations from the Governor’s Advisory Council, CDC recommendations and guidance, and our 2021-2022 budget from the State.
CALENDAR FOR THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR:
We are working on the 2021-22 school year calendar, although is a negotiated item and we do not anticipate having a final calendar until late in the spring.

UPDATES regarding COVID-19 Protocals
IMPORTANT : The option to allow a student or staff person to return to school with a doctor’s note has been removed and is no longer acceptable.
- If a student or staff member has symptoms suggestive of COVID-19, they must either provide proof of a negative PCR test or be excluded from school until 10 days have passed since symptom onset and at least 24 hours fever free without fever reducing medicine.
- If a student or staff member has symptoms suggestive of COVID-19, all household members are also excluded until one of the aforementioned options has been met. This was previously updated on the Symptoms Letter but has now also been included on the Scenario document.

Lasagna Love!
Lasagna Love is a national non-profit organization helping families now in the Detroit Metro that I recently partnered with. A whole bunch of awesome people are making and delivering home-cooked lasagnas for families who are struggling as a result of the pandemic. Lost childcare, lost income, lost sanity… whatever the situation may be. One meal isn’t going to change the world, but it may change a day.
Request a meal. If your family needs a meal, or you know a family that does please log on to www.lasagnalove.org/ to submit your name and be matched with a lasagna chef. Or, you can choose to nominate another family. Your cook will then message you with a delivery time and there you have it! A home cooked meal, delivered to your door. It’s a free meal, made with love, no strings attached.
Spread the word! Please share with your friends, family and acquaintances so we can reach as many families as possible.
