Message from the Principal
Dear Virginia Lake Families,
I hope you are having a fantastic summer! I want to introduce myself as the new principal at Virginia Lake. I look forward to partnering with your family this upcoming school year to support all of the students at Virginia Lake. I am so pleased and honored to rejoin the Virginia Lake community. I have such fond memories of attending our wonderful school as a child. It is my goal to ensure that all of our students receive an excellent education and a positive school experience. The staff and I at Virginia Lake are committed to providing all children with a quality education and giving them the necessary tools and strategies to be successful both inside and outside the classroom.
As the 2021-22 school year quickly approaches, I wanted to share some important dates for upcoming events that will be held in August. I am looking forward to meeting all of the students and families at Virginia Lake. In collaboration with our fabulous PTA, we will be hosting a Back to School Picnic on Friday, August 20th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The event will include live music, giveaways, Kona Ice, and more! All of our students will receive a Virginia Lake T-shirt. Please RSVP for the event, so we have an accurate count of student spirit wear. If you are not able to attend the event, please complete the survey and RSVP no to our picnic. Your child will receive the T-shirt at school. We can't wait to see your entire family at our school event! Go Dolphins!
During the school year, you will receive communication from me every week on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. I will include information relevant to our school, important dates, and highlights of students in our classrooms. The newsletter can be translated into several languages by clicking on the translate icon.
Our office is open during this summer. Our office hours are from 7:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Please stop by at any time. We are always happy to help you!
I will share information about the new staff members at Virginia Lake in early August. In searching for new classroom teachers, we set the bar high and looked for exceptional candidates with experience, outstanding credentials, and stellar references. I am thrilled to have these talented teachers join our team.
As you begin planning for the upcoming school year, you can find school supply lists on our website. School Supply Lists
We are seeking your input to provide us with valuable insights into how you see and feel about our school. In order to get baseline information from stakeholders, we are asking you to complete this brief survey. Results from this survey will be analyzed by our Family Collaboration Team. We will work together to improve the climate and culture of our school community to create an optimal learning environment for all of our students.

Student Registration for the 2021-22 School Year
Registration is required every year.
If you have already registered your child for the 2021-22 school year, thank you—no further action is required!
With four weeks left before the start of the new school year, we want to remind our families of the new registration and residency verification process. If you have not yet registered your child(ren) for the 2021-22 school year, you MUST complete your registration and proof of residency as soon as possible so your child(ren) is able to start school on the first day of school. Children that do not have a completed registration or proof of residency will NOT be assigned a classroom.
Online student registration for the 2021-22 school year is open. If you have not already started this process for your student(s), please visit our registration page to start this process.
Register your child. Registration is the first step in getting ready for the upcoming school year. After registering online, parents will need to go in person to your child's school and provide:
- Health Forms. Required health, immunization, dental, and eye exams for students entering preschool, kindergarten, sixth-grade, and those who are new to the district.
- Prove Residency. If you have a student that is starting Kindergarten, entering 4th grade, or entering 7th grade, you are required to prove residency in District 15. Our residency webpage outlines the documents you will need to provide to prove residency.
Pay student fees. Our student fee webpage outlines the District’s student fee structure and the three ways fees can be paid.
All of the above steps of the enrollment process must be completed prior to the start of the school year. Students of families that, when required, do not prove residency, will not be able to attend class in a District 15 until the family’s residency is verified.
