Assembly-Using machines to do work

This week we had an exciting assembly for the whole school! The presenters made an entire machine out of...BALLOONS! We learned so much about how machines help us do work, and how each part of the machine functions and works together. Check out some of the pictures below.

Top Dog-Emma

This week Emma was our Top Dog. She brought in her cheer leading trophy to share with the class. She also enjoys going to St. Louis and spending time with her family! Thanks for sharing, Emma!

Book Checkout will be next WEDNESDAY. Please have your child return their library books by next Wednesday so they can check out two new books for winter break.

Winter Gear

Even though we have had a very mild December, we know that winter weather will be on its way shortly. As your child is bringing in boots, snow pants, etc. please make sure that they are labeled with your child's name. Also, we go to PE, Music and Art first thing almost every morning. If your child does not need to wear snow pants to school in the morning, it would be appreciated if they could be brought in a bag instead of your child wearing them. The same will be done at the end of the day. This will allow us to save that time for academic purposes. However, we will give them time to put on snow pants before recess so that they are warm and ready to play in the snow at that time!

Also, next Thursday is our 1st and 2nd grade musical! Please make sure you have your child at Jefferson by 6:10 p.m. The program will start at 6:30 p.m. We can't wait!
