Awesomizer or Awfulizer?
I share about my own experience lately as a way to highlight the impact of awfulizing. Through awfulizing I am in a sense looking for allies to collude with me in feeling my frustration and either to support me or to sympathize for me. Before too long...look out! No Lifeguard on Duty! We're swimming in a big pot of awful! This impacts my work and it impacts my relationships with others. I have realized the most important element is my attitude and I have the power to control it. I am challenging myself to honor our work in a much different light which I know will help my outlook and improve creative problem solving.
I have heard from some who have been feeling overwhelmed lately and I want you all to know I get it! I appreciate you trusting me in communicating your needs. We will work to do what we can to alleviate the stress we can. As we move through our year I challenge us all to find the great things going on at our school, celebrate those, be awesomizers! This I know will help improve our outlook, builds us all up through honoring the work we do and promotes problem solving.
Proud of you all, keep up the great work!

Shout Outs!
I appreciate our Joyce and Juliene for all the effort and time they put in to creating opportunity for our kids to attend the 8th grade D.C. trip. It is now being promoted in 6th, 7th and 8th grade!
The LaCreole PE department would like to send a HUGE thank you to the Oregon Dairy & Nutrition Council for their wonderful donation of 400 towels! These towels will come in very handy for our students to whom we are teaching good hygiene practice. We are grateful they were able to come to the rescue to provide us with a much-needed tool for kids to towel off all that sweat, sparkle and shine that comes along with PE. Thank you Oregon Dairy & Nutrition Council!
This week, both Julie Janssen and Britta have/will be stepping in to present specific lessons for my exploratory classes - and I always stand back in awe regarding the talent of ALL OF OUR STAFF in how well they connect and inspire our students in their approach and delivery of their lessons. :) - Michele
Thanks for being gracious hosts to our Oregon Tech Cadre last week. In just a brief time, they were able to feel and see the positive learning culture we are trying to build here at school!
