HFRCS Newsletter SY 2022-2023
October 25, 2022 - Vol.2 Issue 9
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our Hawk Walk day was a wonderful success! God blessed us with a beautiful fall day to be outdoors and everyone enjoyed the Mini Hawk Hustle dance-a-thon in the morning and the neighborhood walk in the afternoon. I would like to thank our Home and School and all parent volunteers for the colorful decorations, the snack table, the Spiritwear, the DJ and music, and generally all the support for the Hawk Walk. We are very close to goal! We are currently at $34,356!!!! We are almost there! If you have not yet supported the Hawk Walk, or know someone who would like to donate, our online platform remains open until Friday, November 4.
As if the Hawk Walk wasn’t enough excitement for the month of October, on Monday, October 31, our PK3 through 3rd grade students will have their Halloween Parade! The Parade will begin at 9:30 AM and the students will parade around the field. Parents and guests are welcome to come and view the parade by the fence bordering the field. Students will parade directly down the fence line, so you will have a great opportunity for photos. Specific directions regarding costumes, etc. can be found in this newsletter. Students in all grades will be having a free Halloween dress down day. Wear your black and orange!
On Tuesday, November 1, we will be celebrating the Solemnity of All Saints. Our school Mass is at 9:30 AM and will be led by our 5th grade. Prior to the beginning of Mass, our 8th grade students will be dressed as a saint and will process up the aisle. This is in preparation for our Living Saints Museum, which will be held on Friday, November 4. Please join us for Mass if your schedule permits.
On the afternoon and evening of Monday, November 7 and during the day on Tuesday, November 8, we will be hosting Parent-Teacher Conferences. Teachers will be sending parents a link to a Signup Genius where you can sign up for a 15-minute meeting slot. You may only sign up for one slot per child. Please use this time to discuss any concerns you may have with your child’s academic learning and achievement. And please note that there will be no school for students on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
As a result of an application submitted to PECO, our school will be receiving new LED lighting in all classrooms, hallways, and common areas. The new efficient lighting will be better for our classrooms, will use less energy and will save us money on our electric bill. All the lighting has arrived at the school and will be installed throughout the next few months. PECO will pick up more than half of the cost for this important energy-efficient upgrade.
Go Phillies!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty

Remember to go to Mass this weekend!

Pray the Rosary as a family!
Halloween Dress Down Day & Parade
Monday, October 31 is a free black and/or orange dress down day!
Also, our Holy Family Halloween Parade for our students in grades PK3 through 3rd grade will take place at 9:30 AM. These students will be parading on the field in their Halloween finery. All are welcome to come out and cheer! Please remember the following when choosing a costume for your child:
- NO MASKS, PROPS or WEAPONS
- Label all costume parts with your child's name
- All costumes are to be worn OVER their orange and/or black dress down day outfits into school that day
- Please send a bag labeled with your child's name so that when the parade is over, costumes can be placed in labeled bags for safe travel home.
- Please wear safe shoes for walking in the grass and through the halls.
Happy Halloween!
Hawk Walk Update
We are so close to goal! With your generosity and support, we have raised $34,356 (72% participation rate)! Our online donation platform remains open until the end of Friday, November 4. Please share your student's link to family and friends so we can reach our goal!
If our school meets its goal of $35,000, we'll have the Turkey Bowl! Turkey Bowl is a fun experience for all our students as we gather on the field and cheer on the faculty and the 8th grade in a competitive game of flag football! Let's go for goal!
