World War 2
A Horrid Expirience for the World
Overview
World War II started when Germany attacked Poland. Britain and France declared war on Germany after Hitler refused to abort his invasion on Poland. The war officially started on September 1, 1935. The Pacific war went on until August 1945. There was fierce fighting on Pacific islands and big naval battles at sea. Finally, the Allies dropped atomic bombs on two Japanese cities, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The damage was so terrible that Japan surrendered. World War I II had ended." - http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/primaryhistory/world_war2/world_at_war/ And that sums up how World War II ended. In the end of the war, there was a great tension. No one was sure if it ended for sure. Everyone was prepared if a sudden bomb was dropped or guns fired and people went down. The tension was all over. Not many people filled the streets for a few months but after a year or two, people acted as nothing happened. Only something did.
Similarities and Differences.
Back then, people where not so humane. Countries wanted land and oceans. So do we now. Weapons back then only fired a few times. Now we have machine guns. Tanks were large but, now they are larger with more weaponry. We have rifles and pistols but now more advanced. People are still as cruel but a better force. The upside to all the war is rights. Now and back then, people had a reason. Most the times for rights.
Planes Fly From the Past to Now
When a plane crashed during a aircraft training, no one was able to find it. B17-Flying Fortress was the plane that crashed. 70 years in the murky greenish blue water of Lake Michigan. 70 years of watching time go by. When scuba divers were training for a competition, they found the plane and called the police to report a crashed plane. What a lucky find. The plane was found in Lake Michigan.
Neighborhoods
When people think neighborhood, they may think houses in mint condition and perfect yards. Well, during World War II life wasn't such a breeze. With fighting over, around, and in front of them, everything was destroyed.
The Fighters
The army now is far more equipped and geared. AK-47 at hand and helmet on head. World War II troops had a rifle and a thin layered helmet with a small layer of plastic and metal. We are far more into technology and it's clear that we are far better now.
