Max Stossel (Founder of Social Awakening) will be at HCS on October 26 to present to Middle and High School students during the school day with a special session for parents/guardians at 6:00p.m. that evening
"Social Awakening" comes to Honeoye Central on October 26
Max Stossel is an award-winning artist, and the founder of Social Awakening: an organization dedicated to helping young people survive and thrive in the modern world. https://www.socialawakening.org/
Before working in this field, Max was a media strategist with an extensive background in social media. He ran social media for big brands, and later worked for a social media company where he designed some notifications to distract people. He has spent the past seven years speaking with 100,000+ students, parents, and educators around the
world about social media's impact on our lives, and creating resources to help manage that impact.
Sessions will be held for Middle and High School Students during the school day with a session specifically for parents/guardians at 6:00p.m. on October 26 in the HCS Auditorium. Please join us for for this important insight to help guide kids in navigating social media.
Social Media And Your Kids (Parent Sessions)
Max Stossel from Social Awakening will illustrate some of the specific ways technology is designed to be addictive & distracting, highlight how that's impacting our kids’ minds, and give recommendations on how to address some of the challenges you and your family are facing. This presentation concludes with open space to discuss what’s working and not working in our households.

Congratulations to Mollie Asquino and Molly Rubadeau who have both been awarded the College Board National Rural and Small Town Award, which recognizes their high GPA and outstanding PSAT scores!

Day of Caring
Friday September 29, 2023 is a special date because the Youth to Youth, National Honor Society and Student Council are all working together to facilitate a Day of Caring at HCS. Our goal is for this day to be worthwhile for all our Middle and High School students. Students in grades 9-12 will be bussed to various locations to help our community and learn the value of giving back. The various locations that students could be sent are as follows:
The different parks in our neighborhoods such as Levi Corser Park, Sandy Bottom, Town of Richmond Gazebo, 3M, nature trails, Town of Bristol, cemeteries, and 4-H facilities.
Local Churches and Libraries
Private residences in Honeoye to rake leaves, clean, or paint
Students will be going in groups, will be chaperoned by a teacher and will be walking or bussed. Please reach out if you have any concerns about the students going off campus to these various locations. Rain date is 10/5.
Smartphones and Other Personal Technology- Responsible use is the goal at HCS
