Spring
Chenggyecheon Stream, Seoul, South Korea
"Spring" was commissioned by the Seoul Foundation of Arts and Culture and completed in 2006 Oldenburg and his wife, Cooje Van Bruggen created this sculpture, This sculpture is located on a wide street covering a river in the center of Seoul Korea. This sculpture was designed with computer graphics. It was commissioned in 2004 and dedicated in 2006. This sculpture had over 200 pieces.
The 200 pieces of the sculpture are made of cast aluminum. They are rough on the outside and smooth on the inside. The interior has a pool of water. This is located in a park along four miles of river banks. It was finished on schedule.
I think that 200 pieces of "Spring" would take a long time to do for the artist to work with.
