Adopt a Garden/Outdoor Classroom
RCES has a lovely, spacious courtyard including a pond that could use some "TLC". We need your help to bring color and beauty to the area, to allow our teachers to use it as an alternative learning space and bring back the ducks and turtles that once called our courtyard their home.
Here is snapshot on how you can help:
We are ready to put the RCES Heron courtyard to bed for the winter. To keep the ground warm and weeds from germinating we will lay cardboard and mulch the beds. Please contact Rosie if you can help especially students who want to earn SSL hours.
Reminder - fall planting including bulbs needs to be done by November 1st.
Thank you, Eliora Oku's (K-Nyguen) dad, for weeding and preparing a garden bed for winter. Families or groups that would like to weed, purchase a fall or spring plant, adopt a garden bed or make a donation please contact Ms. Rosie, LHA/Para at derosero@mcpsmd.org.
AGB held a rock painting program during Book Fair week to bring awareness to the space. Thank you, PTA, for purchasing the materials 🙂.
