Great Job, Culinary!
Over fall break, eight students represented Perry Culinary at the Harvest Moon Dinner. The dinner was a fundraiser to benefit C-CAP ( Careers through Culinary Arts Projects), which is an organization that funds college scholarships for high school culinary students and provides college and career-ready experiences.
The Perry students were teamed up with Chef Tamara Stanger of Utah to create a dish that would utilize ingredients indigenous to the Arizona desert. The students and chef came up with a Tepary Bean Pie with an heirloom red corn crust. It was garnished with bee pollen, pomegranate, sun-dried tomatillos, and candied pepitas.
The tepary beans are an heirloom bean indigenous to the desert with a nutty peanut buttery flavor and can withstand little to no water when growing.
The students had the opportunity to share their stories and passion for creating this amazing recipe with the guests. Chef Tamara and Instructor Angela Stutz proudly represented Perry High school and CUSD at such a valuable event.
Way to Represent, Early Childhood!
The Perry Early Childhood chapter of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) attended a statewide Chapter Leadership Camp the last three days before fall break (September 28th-September 30th) at Lost Canyon in Williams, AZ. Nine Perry students spent those days networking with other Arizona chapters, competing in field games, and brainstorming for the upcoming competition season. We loved it and are definitely going to attend again next year!

The Pumas Have Chromebooks!
In 2022-2023, Chandler Unified School District is launching a 1:1 learning initiative. We are excited about the innovative personalized learning opportunities that we can offer to all students when we provide them with a reliable technology device.
To help parents and students learn more about this initiative, we have created our 1:1 Student Guide website, which you can find at https://1to1.gse.cusd80.com. There is a lot of information on this website, but we feel it is important to the success of this initiative to clearly communicate all of it to our parents and students. We encourage all of you to review this information with your child(ren) so you have a clear understanding of device expectations, maintenance, etc.
Devices were distributed at Perry High School on August 11th and 12th. Before students can get their device, their parent must sign a device agreement form. This form can be completed electronically by visiting the Infinite Campus parent portal, and directions on how to do this can be found at https://1to1.gse.cusd80.com/cusd-11-device-agreement. Additional information on device distribution will be sent out at a later date.
If your student did not receive a device but you believe they should have, please contact Mrs. De La Torre at delatorre.jennifer@cusd80.com.
