Here is what is coming up next week!

Writing-We have started our new unit on personal narratives this week. The students are writing about a favorite place and an activity they did in their favorite place. We reviewed brainstorming, jotting, linear progression, and creating leads.

Early Release

Google Classroom Homework

I have started using Google classroom as way to integrate more technology into our learning. I have invited the students to my classroom and have created their first assignment for them. The assignment involves watching two videos about the water cycle as well as writing 3-5 complete sentences about what they learned from the videos. This assignment is due Tuesday so if your student has not logged into Google Classroom yet please make sure they do so and complete the assignment before Tuesday! If you have any questions on how to log on or do not have computer access please email me and I can help you out.

Class Shirts

Yesterday a form was sent home for class t-shirts. This is optional! If you would like to purchase one though we need to get money orders in by Friday, January 15th so that we can get them ordered as soon as possible. All the shirts will look the same but our class will be Lime Green. This allows us teachers to easily see which students belong to us on the field trip and helps us make sure all students are with us at all times.

Maturation Video

The Opt Out form was also sent home earlier this week. I will also be emailing you the information from our school nurse, Mrs. Bullock. In her letter are the links to the videos so that you can watch them for yourself and decide if you would like your child to watch them or not. If you do NOT want your child to participate, please fill out the opt out form and return it before Friday, January 15th.

Winter Party

The kids had a great time at the winter party! We made snowmen, played some fun games, ate great food, and did a book exchange! Here are the kids having fun ready to start their craft!
