How can you identify trace evidence
Marilyn Clark - 4th period Forensics Shepherd
Eyeshadow
I believe it to be neutral eyeshadow because of its look and texture. A chemist or cosmetologist would be an expert to talk to about this mineral. Its value would be that it can lead to finding who the buyer is and from their skin who it is.
Twisty
A twisty is my guess on the object. Going to a grocery store can help lead to more information because this helps food get sealed. Nothing I know of can be of any value in this case unless it was involved with the victim.
Gum
The object resembles gum because it looks like it had that texture. Showing the lab this piece can help get saliva off the gum to find out the DNA of it.
Crayon
I think this piece is a part of a crayon. Talking to the company of the crayon is good and having the labs look at the material. This object wouldn't be of value to a case.
Thread
This is likely to be thread because of its look. Having lab reports done would be good to look for clues and to learn more about it. Threads would be a good value to the case because it can identify what the victim or suspect wore.
Nail
This looks like somebody's nail clippings. DNA can be run on it in a lab to find out more information and it can be of great value because of find a person.
Hair
This stand is thin enough to be hair. Like the thread, it can be run for tests to find out the DNA of a suspect or victim.
Tooth
This looks like it would be a rotten tooth. This can be looked at my dental experts in forensics in order to learn more information. It can play a part in that it might have been knocked out of the victim.
Match
This can be definitely a match that has been lit up. An arsonist who has seen fire can look at this for more information. This match could be value to if it start a fire.
Yoyo
Because of its round shape and string attached, it looks like it could be a yoyo. Whoever made these yo-yos could be questioned to how this could be dangerous. It could have value if it was used as a weapon.
Food crumbs
These are believed to be food crumbs because its broken into smaller pieces. To find out what kind of food and if there is any residue, it can be tested in a lab. The only way it could be of value is if it had been at a party and had poison.
Banana peal
This looks like a rotten banana peal. Taking it to a lab or food expert is the way to go in order to find out more information. It could play of value in it being poisoned.
Corn
This object looks like corn. It can be taken to the food scientists or to a lab. It can play a value in that somebody chocked on it or it was poisoned.
Button
This is a button from the picture. Going to the clothing factory or a sewing store can help find out more about this button. This button may be of value if it was taken off during an altercation.
