    Thanks for Supporting Red Ribbon Week

    Thanks for your support during Red Ribbon Week! We had lots of students wear red on Wednesday and even more participate in pajama day on Friday. We even had students with personalized Drug Free t-shirts! Wow! Last week we shared an article entitled Talking To Your Child About Drugs. This week we're sharing an article on How to Talk to Your Teen About Substance Use. We can prepare our children to make good decisions by equipping them with knowledge and information in advance.

    Junior CEO Hot Chocolate Sale

    If you’re free, mark your calendar to head downtown and support our GLC Junior CEO’s on Saturday, Nov. 6. Upper-grade students in our HEART after-school program who are participating in the Junior CEO program will be hosting a Hot Chocolate Sale outside Quesadilla Gorilla (302 W Main St.) on Saturday, 11/16, from 1:30-5:00 p.m.

    Picture Day is Wednesday, Nov 10!

    Picture day is Wednesday, November 10th! Packages start at $12. Completed orders must be brought to the photographer on picture day (do not return to teachers). Checks should be made payable to VPS. Packages may also be prepaid online. We'll share that link and information once it is available!

    Parent-Teacher Conferences

    Parent-teacher conferences will be held via Zoom between November 10th and 19th. On Tuesday, November 2, teachers will be sharing a link on Class Tag to sign up for a conference date and time. If you do not have access to ClassTag, please reach out to your child's teacher directly. Your child's teacher looks forward to meeting with you!

    Annual Scholastic Book Fair

    The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the GLC library from Monday (11/15) to Friday (11/19). The book fair will be open to students during the day and to parents after school each day and for an extended period on Tuesday (11/16). Please keep your eye out for a letter with more information going home with your child this week.

    We are looking for cleared volunteers to help with our Scholastic Book Fair. If you are interested in assisting with the book fair, please contact Ms. Aure at

    Volunteer Orientation & Training

    We will hold our next Volunteer Orientation &Training this Monday (November 2) at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. Parents are now allowed to volunteer on-site and for field trips. If you are interested in attending, Zoom information will be sent out the night prior via ClassTag and our Blackboard text app.

    Homework Help!

    VUSD's After-hours Academic Assistance (AAA) program is proving itself a real success! This program is available to all VUSD students grades K-12 at no charge, four evenings a week. Homework assistance will be lead by certificated VUSD teachers in all grades and mostly all subjects. The AAA program helps students with homework from content previously covered in class.     Global Learning Charter School (GLC) is a public charter school committed to offering relevant, personalized learning opportunities to prepare students to be global-ready in work and life. GLC opened in August of 2017. Currently, we serve approximately 440 students in grades K-8.
