Transcript requests for scholarship applications should be made to Ms. Kirby in the Counseling & Advisement Office.
FAFSA
Every college-bound senior needs to complete the FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you have not completed the FAFSA, The Educational Opportunity Center at Midlands Tech will help you. You do not have to be attending Midlands Tech to use this service.
Call 803-822-3749 to schedule an appointment. You will need to bring the following items to your appointment:
- Picture ID
- Permanent Resident card (if eligible non-citizen)

Rooms to GROW: 2021 Dorm Room Grants
The Educational Foundation’s Board of Directors established this grant program to assist Lexington School District One students with typical college expenses outside of tuition. The Foundation will provide $300 grants to help 25 high school seniors purchase basic dorm room supplies. The program gives preference to college-bound students who have excelled despite sometimes overwhelming financial disadvantages.
Eligibility: Applicants must be planning to attend a college, university, or technical college and live on campus. Grants are intended to place money in the hands of seniors who need it most. Therefore, highest priority will be given to students in the following circumstances: • Foster care;
• Housing shared with others due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or similar circumstances; • Motel/hotel lodging due to lack of other adequate accommodations;
• Emergency or transitional shelter placement; or
• Significant financial need based on individual and/or parent/household income.

Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Scholarship
Amount: $1250 for students attending a 4 yr college

SC State Fair Scholarship

Eligibility:
The South Carolina State Fair annually awards 50 scholarships to South Carolina high school students planning to pursue their studies at any public or private college, university, or technical college in the state. The $6,000 scholarships are awarded at an annual rate of $1,500 and are based on academic and extracurricular achievement, communication skills, need, and completeness of the application.
The scholarships must be used at a public or private South Carolina college, university, or technical college and may cover tuition or other educational expenses like on-campus housing, a computer, or textbooks.
Recipients must retain a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and enroll in no less than 30 credit hours each academic year to receive funding for that year.
LEXINGTON MEDICAL CENTER SCHOLARSHIPS

Requirements: Awarded to high school seniors who reside in Lexington County or attend a Lexington County School, or a student with a GED certificate who is planning to earn a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
-A student who has been accepting into a Baccalaureate Degree Program in Nursing (letter of acceptance required)
-Two letters of recommendation
-Essay
-High School transcript with GPA, class rank, and SAT or ACT scores
Ann Wingate Scholarship
Amount: $1000
Requirements: Awarded to high school seniors who reside in Lexington County or attend a Lexington County School, or a student with a GED certificate who is planning to earn an Associate Degree in Nursing.

1. Applicant must be a senior graduating from a public high school in SC.
2. Applicant must plan to attend a SACS accredited college, university, technical school, or community college in SC as a full time student.
3. Must plan to pursue a career in education.

5. Must demonstrate leadership abilities.
6. Must need financial assistance.

Honoring our Heroes' Children Scholarship

The Honoring our Heroes’ Children Scholarship seeks to provide educational assistance to children, who have: at least (1) one parent currently serving or who previously served in the U.S. Armed Forces or have at least (1) one parent who volunteers or is employed as a First Responder*. The scholarship must be used for higher education expenses for a student who will attend a two or four-year university.
*First Responder includes: Fire/EMS/911/Law Enforcement.

The Tywanza Sanders® Legacy Scholarship was established in 2017 to honor the legacy of Tywanza Sanders® and his commitment to education. Tywanza was a victim of the Emanuel Church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina. The mission of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to individuals enrolling in undergraduate study at a four-year college or university in the United States for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The Tywanza Sanders® Legacy Scholarship awards scholarship on the basis of a comprehensive review process. The review committee will assess the following areas: written essay, academic performance, and financial need. Scholarships are awarded upon the availability of funds and additional qualifying criteria.
The Tywanza Sanders® Legacy Foundation awards scholarships without regard to race, sex, religion, age, national origin, or sexual orientation. Scholarships will not be awarded to applicants who do not meet the qualifications. The Tywanza Sanders® Legacy Foundation reserves the right not to award a scholarship in a given year.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter is pleased to announce its annual college scholarship awards. Applicants must be a high school senior planning to enter a four-year college/university in the fall of 2021. Applicant must be attending a public high school in Lexington County or Richland/Lexington School District Five, an Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter #CAP℠ student, or a 2019-2020 Emeralds of Excellence Debutante.

Miller, Dawson, Sigal, and Ward Scholarship
Amount: $1000 (3 students will each receive $1000)

- Applicants must be college students in South Carolina, with a GPA of at least 3.0, who have been accepted to or are currently enrolled in a 2-year college or 4- year university.
- Three students will be selected to receive $1,000 in scholarship funds based on their winning essay response.

- The winner will be notified individually and announced on our social media between May 17th-21st, 2021.
Christian Connector, Inc Scholarship Drawing

The scholarship runs each year from June 1st through May 31st. The drawing winner of each scholarship is selected at random and The Christian Connector, Inc. reserves the right to change the random drawing selection process at any point. Individuals must meet the below guidelines in order to be eligible to receive the scholarship.
Drawing Guidelines:
- The scholarship recipient must have plans to enroll for the first time as a full-time student at a Christ-centered Christian college or Bible college within 16 months of being notified by The Christian Connector, Inc. that he/she has won the drawing.
- The Christian Connector, Inc. reserves the right to make the determination of whether or not a particular school qualifies. Any school that is a member of the CCCU, NACCAP or ABHE automatically qualifies.
- The scholarship recipient may not currently be enrolled at a Christian college or Bible college.
- The scholarship will not be sent to the individual recipient, but rather it will be sent directly to the school of choice, meeting the above criteria.
- An individual cannot enter the scholarship drawing more than once, however, he/she may use the request form and Christian Connector services as often as they wish.
- By completing the information request form, the winner of the scholarship allows their name, city and state to be used on the site and in promotional materials, announcing that he/she is a Christian Connector scholarship recipient.
Should the initial randomly selected individual(s) not meet the above guidelines for the scholarship drawing entered, the scholarship will be forfeited and offered to another individual until a selected individual who meets the above guidelines is awarded the appropriate scholarship.
