FROM THE HEAD'S DESK
During assembly on Monday part of the focus was on the recent events in France, looking at the terrible results of extremism and how we can work together to educate individuals so that this is not repeated. My thanks go to the Year 10 Historians, who on Thursday, led an assembly on the truce during World War 1 where supposed enemies came together in friendship and collaboration, a good lesson in troubled times.
Year 11 have had their reports issued today and I look forward to seeing parents on Tuesday as we plan the final parts of the boys GCSE journey.
Good luck to the U14s in their County Cup final today and commiserations to the U15s who lost to a well disciplined Royal Latin School in the Daily Mail Competition on Wednesday.
He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life. Muhammad Ali

IMPORTANT NOTICES FROM THE MFL DEPT:
YEAR 11 LINGUISTS - "HOW TO REVISE FOR MFL" - On Thursday 22 January, all Year 11 linguists will attend a short talk in the sports hall, during the first part of their language lesson. This will be delivered by the MFL team with the aim of equipping the boys with effective revision techniques which they can then put into practice.
GCSE MFL REVISION CLINICS - Boys are reminded that there are lunchtime revision sessions available to you - please see your language teacher for details. If you need some support or guidance on how to revise/prepare for Controlled Assessments, please make use of this valuable opportunity. Your final exams in reading and listening are not far away: French - 12 May, German - 3 June, Spanish - 15 May.
Make it your New Year resolution to attend these and start your revision early!
FROM THE OFFICE
Cashless Catering - Canteen Purchases - A new button, ‘Show Canteen Purchases’, has been added to Cashless Catering system. This enables you to see the last thirty days of your child’s dining room transactions .
Medical Information: Please be advised that should your child be absent from school with sickness/diarrhoea, he should not return to school until 48 hours after the last bout of vomiting or diarrhoea.
