News from the desk of Principal Papes
Dear Alto Families,
Our students had a great time shopping at the Kids’ Holiday Shop this past week. Thank you to the parent volunteers who helped make this possible. Our primary intention of offering this opportunity is simply to have a fun experience for the kids and a way for them to purchase items secretly for family or friends. 10% of sales will go to the school’s fundraising efforts; however, we are very intentional about not having a significant markup to keep prices low.
Trimester 1 Report Cards
Trimester 1 report cards will go home Monday, December 6th. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have questions or concerns after reviewing your student’s report card.
Holiday Parties
Your child’s teacher will be contacting you regarding dates for their classroom holiday parties or activities for the week before the holiday break. Unfortunately, we are still unable to have parent volunteers help with classroom parties/activities as we are still limiting the number of people in classrooms. Teachers will be communicating their requests for donated treats or other items. All treats need to be store-bought but not necessarily individually wrapped (no homemade treats please). We’re looking forward to these fun celebrations with our students!
Coats and Backpacks
We have many new or like new coats and backpacks that have been donated to the school. Please do not hesitate to e-mail me (ppapes@lowellschools.com) if your child would benefit from either of these. Also, please reach out if your child is in need of winter hats and gloves as well.
