LIECK REUNITED! Parent Edition
INSTRUCTIONAL SCHOOL DAY: 7:45 A.M. - 3:10 P.M.
Message from the Principal
Parents can you believe November is upon us! In just three weeks, it will be Thanksgiving Break and shortly after, Winter Break. Time is flying! I am glad we can come together in the building and heal from the last year and a half. It is so good to be reunited!
I am so very proud of our students for all of their hard work they put forth the first grading period. Students have been working on Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies concepts as well as other areas to grow their social emotional well-being such as character development and socialization skills. The pandemic affected students in different ways and teachers along with our counseling department have incorporated lessons that range from coping to making friends.
Parent Conferences are underway! Parents if you have not had your parent teacher conference yet, please reach out to your classroom teacher to set up a day and time to meet. For families not able to attend in person, we can arrange a Zoom session as well. We are committed to our partnership with our parents for our students' success! Thank you for your support!
Color Run Updates: As of this morning, we have raised over $36,000!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Lieck Community!! This money will go straight back to students in the form of school wide activities, field trips and other opportunities! Thank you for your generosity and support! *Donations will be accepted through Nov. 12th. COLOR RUN will be Friday, Nov. 5th!

Cupcakes are to be dropped off at the school office and our staff will deliver them to the classrooms near the end of the school day. News from the Library
-From the Clinic, Nurse Kristyn Gonzales-
- In the event we are made aware of a positive case on campus, the student or staff member is safely and quickly transferred from their location to the Isolation Room where the nurse attends to the individual's needs and prepares the child or adult for pickup. The classroom or specific location then undergoes a thorough cleaning/disinfecting protocol by our custodial staff.
- Nurse Kristyn with assistance from an administrator, will then perform contact tracing and identify close contacts. A close contact is considered to be individuals who are within 3-6 feet of each other with either individual not wearing a face mask. If your child is a close contact, the family will be notified by phone with that information. General Covid notification letters may be sent to families via School Messenger by grade level or classroom depending on the situation.
- If a student is sent to the clinic with symptoms of Covid-19, Nurse Kristyn is able to administer a nasal swab Rapid Test with written PARENTAL CONSENT. Please contact the school nurse at 210-398-1459 to get more information about the Rapid Test.

While one-on-one communication is the best, in a district as large as Northside ISD it is sometimes difficult. Because we want our parents to stay informed, NISD has several ways that parents and other interested citizens can stay informed about the successes and challenges of San Antonio’s premier school district of choice, as well as find out news about their children’s schools.
