Important Update
For Bremerton High School Families
Wednesday, May 5, 2021
Dear Bremerton High School Families:
We are reaching out to announce a small change to the schedule at Bremerton High School.
The District was recently notified by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) that we needed to increase the hours of in-person instruction for our students in the Hybrid Learning Pathway.
We looked at how we could do this with the least amount of disruption to our students and families, and without requiring a complete “remodel” of the schedule for both Hybrid and Connected (100% online) students. We also didn’t want to interfere with sports or after-school jobs by adding hours onto the end of the school day.
To meet the state requirement, students will begin attending school in-person on alternating Wednesdays for Knight Skills classes.
- Group A will attend May 19 and June 2
- Group B will attend May 26 and June 9
The schedule for Knight Skills has not changed. Knight Skills is 11 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. on Wednesdays. Doors open to students at 10:45 a.m.
Bus transportation
The District will be providing bus transportation. Wednesday bus routes are posted on the District website.
Meal delivery changes
With this change, meals will no longer be delivered on Wednesdays throughout the District as the buses will be needed to transport our BHS students. However, two meals will be distributed via bus on Tuesdays, and families can still pick-up meals at any school on Wednesdays. Meal program information is available at BremertonSchools.org/Meals.
Thank you for your continued patience and support throughout this unusual and challenging school year.
Sincerely,
Aaron Leavell
Superintendent
