Sunday, January 22, begins National Lutheran Schools Week – a weeklong celebration of

Lutheran schools. Grace Lutheran School is one of 1,855 Lutheran Schools in the country, with 1,714 early childhood centers, 730 elementary schools, and 99 high schools. These schools have over 21,000 educators working with 162,000 students. Lutheran schools have a rich tradition of providing excellence in education in the United States since the 1850’s. Grace Lutheran has not been around quite that long – but next school year will mark our 60th anniversary of providing quality Lutheran education in the Huntsville community.

We are kicking off NLSW with the Pre-K classes singing at Grace Lutheran Church at the start of the 8:00 am service. We have a variety of activities planned for the rest of the week including theme dress-up days. Monday is 100th Day, Tuesday – Decades Day, Wednesday – Dress Your Best Day, Thursday – School Spirit Day, and Friday - STEAM Day. Students who choose not to participate in a dress-up day must still come in uniform. We will also be collecting food for the North Alabama Food Bank. Each day, we will start with a morning assembly in the gym – doing announcements, devotions, and a song or two together as the whole school. Friday, the PTL has arranged an assembly during the day – The Wacky

Science Show – at 1:30 pm. Families are welcome to attend.
