Chamberlin's Chat

Thank you to all of those who were able to attend Parent Orientation last week. Research shows that students with engaged parents benefit by better attendance, higher test scores, better self-esteem, and higher graduation rates. Whether or not your schedule allowed your attendance last week, we hope to see all families at Parent-Teacher Conferences!

Today provided an excellent opportunity for students to learn about Patriot Day, and we enjoyed our assembly that included the attendance of many first responders.

We are deep into our instructional work! Being in classrooms this past week certainly felt like we have fully launched into our school year, with a great deal of learning evident in all grade levels. We are taking time to assess students so that we know exactly what they need from us to be most successful in their learning journey, and have been focusing on building strong relationships with all students so that they know how important they are in our community! Enjoy photos below of some of the moments in classrooms that I was able to capture throughout the week!

Have a wonderful weekend, and as always, reach out with any questions that you may have.

Ms. Chamberlin

Our Library Media Specialist, Mrs. Hoke, has put together a list of Student Library Resources, if you would like to explore and encourage your child to do the same.

PTA FUNdraiser Begins Tuesday!

We are so excited to kick off PTA's FUNdraiser this Tuesday! Please look for more information to come home with your child this day. PTA uses these funds to pay for field trips, to eliminate party fees for families, Family Fun Night, and big ticket items that make our Stars' school experience even better! Crossing Guard Needed (Update)

Nashua Elementary currently has an opening for a crossing guard position at 114th Street and N. Oak. Crossing guards work for ONLY one hour in the afternoon.

The work hours for this open position are 3:45 pm to 4:45 pm. Crossing guards earn $14.00 per hour and are employed through Securitas.

Applicants should contact the district’s Safety and Security Director at 816-977-810 or email at Robert.mclees@nkcschools.org.

Car Rider Line Procedure (REPEATED ITEM)

To ensure safety during arrival and dismissal we ask that all families adhere to the car rider procedure on the map below. Car riders will access their line from the westbound lane of 114th street by way of McGee street. The NKC Buses will access the bus loop by driving eastbound on 114th street.

In addition, if you are lining up early for dismissal, we ask that you not block driveways and mailboxes along 114th street or McGee street.

Thank you so much for your cooperation, as this helps for a smoother dismissal for everyone.
